ABOUT
Katie has an interest in working with adolescents and adults with eating disorders, anxiety, and mood disorders. Katie has worked in acute hospital settings, assessing, and treating people with a wide range of severe and complex mental health presentations. Katie is a lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU), teaching postgraduate students assessment and treatment interventions for people with serious mental illnesses.
Katie has training and experience using a number of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Schema Therapy, as well as several trauma-informed interventions.
In her practice, Katie assists people with a range of psychological challenges including eating disorders/problems, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, interpersonal problems, and emotion-regulation difficulties.
Katie is a Registered Psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Katie is also a Board-approved supervisor.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys attending pilates and yoga classes, running, spending time with her family and friends, reading, and exploring Canberra’s food-scene.
